Atwood Early Rod Run
Excitement will fill the downtown streets every third weekend in May as over 300 vintage and restored cars swarm the town.
Saturday, the streets are roped off and food vendors offer their best to over a thousand classic enthusiasts who stroll and admire the show. The weekend event also features dances with live bands to entice visitors to kick up their heels.

4th of July Lake Atwood Celebration
It’s family day at the lake, which includes an all-day sand volleyball tournament, bike races, barrel train rides for kids, horseshoe games, food vendors, a talent show, and a ‘must see’ fireworks show to finish off the day.

10 Mile Lake Atwood Race
The oldest continuously run road race in Kansas, a 10-mile run around Lake Atwood attracts competitors from many countries, as well as local runners. Many have run in almost every race since its interception 44 years ago.
Smokin’ on the Beaver
The annual barbecue festival is held the last Saturday in September at Lake Atwood. Hundreds of visitors have their appetites whetted by the delicious aromas wafting from area contestants’ grills and smokers.
A huge variety of beef and pork cuts, wild game and fish join baked beans, salsa and brew to be carefully cooked with braggin’ rights in mind.

Rawlins County Free Fair
